Elavon’s Interac payment system down across Canada

Elavon’s Interac payment company seasoned an outage in Canada on April 29, having down debit capabilities on Canada’s important payment terminals, such as Godaddy Poynt, and causing businesses to turn away consumers who pay with debit cards.

The concern was confirmed by a Poynt assist representative.
It is unclear if the outage is brought on by a safety breach.
Visa and Mastercard transactions are not affected.
