N. Korea promotes six commanding officers to ‘general’ for late founder’s birth anniversary

6 North Korean military services officials have been promoted to the rank of four-star standard at the purchase of chief Kim Jong-un on the celebration of the 110th beginning anniversary of late countrywide founder Kim Il-sung, point out media described Thursday.
The announcement arrived on the eve of the anniversary, a person of the country’s most important celebrations, seemingly aimed at rallying unity in the army amid heightened regional tensions.
Kim has conferred the title of typical to previous Defense Minister Kim Jong-gwan, who was demoted to a a few-star colonel standard from vice marshal in a military reshuffle last 12 months, in accordance to the condition-operate Korean Central Broadcasting Station.
Other navy officers promoted to common are Kim Myong-sik, Kim Kwang-hyok, Jong Kyong-thaek, O Il-jong and Kang Solar-nam.
Kim expressed “organization perception that all the commanding officers, the hard core of the armed forces of the DPRK, would entirely discharge their obligations in the honorable struggle to change the groundbreaking armed forces into the elite types less than the management of the Bash Central Committee, remaining boundlessly faithful to the Party and the revolution,” the broadcaster documented.
Presently, Kim retains the second-greatest position in the North’s armed service of “marshal.” Only his late grandfather and late father Kim Jong-il are titled “grand marshal,” the maximum rank. (Yonhap)
